The Metrikus API

With our API, you can access all the building data you need – aggregated and normalized in consistent formats – making it easier to query and get from data to decisions.

Our developer portal gives you access to comprehensive documentation to get the most out of the data and our API.

Specific data request types available in the Metrikus API:

Latest data

For developing experiences

Get access to latest recorded data readings to develop and build new experiences, with live data use cases for your app.

Historical data

For historical data analysis

We normalize and contextualize your historical (time series) data for you, so it’s ready for you to analyze however you want.

Metrikus insights

For accelerated insights

We’ve already derived insights from the aggregated historical data ourselves, which you can access and query to get from data to insights faster.

We normalize building data so that you don’t have to. It’s super quick and easy for you to query whatever data you need, regardless of the format or data source it came from.

Take a look at some of our key use cases made available via our API endpoints below:

Space management endpoints

Historical space occupancy

Historical space occupancy

You can query occupancy data for a specific space

Example use case:
Ideal for when you’re looking to analyze the past occupancy of your space to see which meeting rooms, floors or buildings in your portfolio aren’t being used as much, so you can save on wasted real estate costs.

Latest space occupancy

You can query the most recently recorded occupancy of one or more spaces

Example use case:
This endpoint is best when you’re building live data use cases in your workplace app that require a live feed of occupancy data, like showing which office spaces are currently occupied at a given moment.

Historical desk occupancy

Historical desk occupancy

You can query the occupancy data for all the desks within a space

Example use case:
Use this when you’re looking to analyze the past occupancy of your desks to see how they’re being used, so you can redesign or optimize your space as needed.

Latest desk occupancy

You can query the latest occupancy of one or more desks

Example use case:
Great for when you’re building live data use cases in your workplace app that need a live feed of desk occupancy data, like showing which desks are currently available.

Wellbeing and productivity endpoints

Latest space IEQ

Latest space indoor environmental quality (IEQ)

You can query the most recently recorded IEQ values for one or more spaces

Example use case:
Perfect for when you’re building live data use cases in your workplace app that need a live feed of IEQ data (e.g. CO2 levels or temperature). An example of this might be displaying these values on a meeting room panel to increase transparency of the air quality in meeting rooms to your employees.

IEQ time spent in ranges

This endpoint returns a payload containing the time spent in each predefined range of values of the most important IEQ properties.

Example use case:
Ideal for when you’re looking to analyze past indoor environmental quality data values of a specific space in your office over time. This could help you dive into a historical analysis of the actual temperature or CO2 levels employees are exposed to.

Building efficiency endpoints

Total energy consumption

Total energy consumption

You can query the total energy consumed within a building

Example use case:
Use this if you’re looking to analyze the total energy consumed by a specific building, so you can compare it against your entire portfolio and find real opportunities to save on wasted energy costs and bills.

Energy consumption in time buckets

You can query the energy consumed within a building over a period of time

Example use case:
Perfect for analyzing energy consumption at a more granular level across specific time periods for a specific building, so you can understand detailed and more accurate energy usage in your portfolio.
