Using data to maximize workplace utilization and drive employee productivity
Using your office space effectively can have a big impact on your organization – optimizing operational efficiency and boosting employee productivity.
But how can you make sure your space is being set up and used in the most efficient way for you and your employees?
In this blog post, we explain how our joint solution with Appspace uses real-time and historic data to maximize utilization and drive collaboration.
The importance of historic and real-time data about your space
Following Appspace’s World of Work (WOW) event in September, we sat down with Thomas Philippart de Foy, Chief Innovation Officer at Appspace. He explained that most organizations he spoke to at the event were interested in measuring both real-time and historic space utilization data in order to help them predict future trends, optimize utilization, and better plan their spaces.
With the Metrikus and Appspace joint solution, you can do exactly this – use space reservation analytics to understand how rooms and desks are being booked versus how they are actually being used.
Using this data to improve future planning and drive efficiencies
Once you have this data, you can then use past behaviors to start planning better for the future. For example, suggesting the size of rooms required for different meetings, to avoid one person using a large meeting room while lots of people are crammed into a smaller one.
You can also use this data to inform longer-term strategies such as redesigning your floor spaces to make sure your space is being used in a way that encourages collaboration across your teams.
Using this data to enhance both the collaboration and user experience of the office in the ways we’ve discussed will often lead to a better utilization of the space, as well as greater productivity, which was the overarching goal in the first place!
