We’re in the business of aggregating building data. So when we found Metry, a company that has been aggregating energy and utility data for years, we knew an integration and partnership would be a perfect fit.

But it's more than just shared expertise that drove us to integrate Metry (now part of EVORA Global) into our platform – it's about what this data empowers our customers to achieve.

To celebrate this new integration, we’ve written a quick blog post explaining why we’re so excited about it and how it’ll benefit our customers.

What does our integration with Metry enable our customers to do? 

Metry aggregates consumption data from meters and bills, including electricity, gas and water from a wide range of suppliers in the market. And if you know the industry well, you’ll know that this is far from being an easy task. 

Integrating Metry into our new platform allows us to access energy data in hourly intervals, offering a more comprehensive picture of energy usage patterns for our customers and partners.

And the best part? There’s no need to install new meters or sensors, or have a Building Management System (BMS) or Energy Management System (EMS) in place to monitor energy consumption.

All of this makes it quicker, easier and cheaper for our customers to get their hands on the data they need.

What’s the added value of having this data in the Metrikus platform? 

To take it to the next level, the Metrikus platform then puts this energy and utility data into context of our customers’ buildings and portfolios. 

This means users can view electricity consumption for their entire portfolio, analyze average gas consumption over a chosen time period for a specific building, or drill down to see water consumption for a certain building on a chosen day.

This not only helps our customers build a better understanding of consumption patterns in the context of their portfolio, but also helps them improve utility management strategies and ultimately drive more efficient consumption behaviors.

Where do other types of building data come into this?

Another key benefit of integrating Metry into our platform is that it allows users to compare energy data with other types of data – unlocking a whole new range of analytical possibilities.

One exciting use case is overlaying energy and utility data with occupancy data. This allows customers to better understand the relationship between energy consumption and occupancy levels, and to identify when offices are being unnecessarily heated or cooled.

And there are a lot of other valuable use cases for comparing different data sets, including people count, indoor air quality, and indoor environmental quality – all from a wide range of different sources and systems.
